Values
Empowerment. I provide an open learning environment, encourage my clients’ curiosity, and support my client’s education so that they can engage and build relationships with their homes.
Inclusion. I create and maintain safes spaces for people of color, women, and gender non-conforming folks to access building skills and resources.
Environmental Justice. Research and work with materials and building methods that prioritize people and our environment.
Communication. I take the trust you put in the people you allow into your home seriously. I will keep you updated on and educated about schedules, budget, and the items and people that will be in your home.
Chris Landingin, Owner
As a queer Filipino woman in the trades, my skills and experiences have been hard-won. I want to share what I have learned and help people connect to other trusted contractors.
After studying Anthropology and Human Development at UCLA, I began my building career in the exhibit workshops of the Smithsonian. Wanting to shift preservation focus from artifacts to relationships and ecologies, I became an intern at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Vermont, where I earned my Sustainable Design Certificate. I moved to Seattle in 2012 and became a residential design/build remodeler. I’ve worked in cabinet shops, on remodels from foundation through finish, and managed projects as well as several build teams.
I teach timber framing classes at Yestermorrow Design Build School and the Port Townsend School of Woodworking.
